When we finished our fireplace mantel and hearth with ArtisStone we were so very pleased with the finished product. Not only did we have the natural color and true stone slab textures of tyndall stone, but without the excess weight the product would naturally have. Rick has built and fitted two fireplaces in our home. He was involved in the design of both and assisted us in deciding upon the most appropriate style and size. Ever since I met Rick Alpen of ArtisStone I knew I wanted to work with him on a custom project. He is an artist and an exceptional tradesperson. I hired Rick to complete a concrete sculpture as a landscape and building solution. The project required that we collaborate and brainstorm together in the planning phase. Rick was a lot of fun to work with in this process. In the end he created just what I was envisioning, and our clients were thrilled. His work is still a conversation piece - people love to hear how the "rock planter" is made by hand, by a local artisan, using concrete. Recommended!
